Isaac is constantly moving moving from point A to point B, scavenging for supplies, or trying to repair something that is broken. Part of what makes Dead Space so good is the fact that you aren’t camped out in a defensible corner, waiting for Necromorphs to attack. You could probably include the areas of Chapter 11 and 12 where you have to move the Marker, too. The only large rooms that I can think of that are “open” are the Bridge, the tri-level hydroponics room, and the Chapter 10 dormitories. The games are intentionally claustrophobic, putting Isaac in tight corridors with very few lines-of-sight. Something to consider is that Dead Space really doesn’t have a lot of areas that lend themselves toward a survival-mode. I’m not sure I’d spend a whole lot of time developing maps specifically for the mode, but I could see an expanded layout of -say- the hydroponics sector or the medical decks being pretty fun to load up and get swarmed. Horde-mode could be a genuinely good addition for Dead Space Remake.
